Overview

Ameristar Meats and HFM is seeking a Regional Sales Manager/Category Manager for our Honolulu, Hawaii region.  Headquartered in Spokane, WA, Ameristar Meats is a leading provider of fine meat products.  We offer customers innovative programs for emerging dining trends. Ameristar Meats produces quality brands like Cattle Company Angus, CAB, Mist Isle Farms,  Hawaii Rancher, Blue Mesa Natural Angus & Blackstone 1890. 

We are seeking an individual who is a highly motivated seller with a proven track record of successful protein sales/works closely with key sales and category management personnel from both the branch and our sister companies, primarily Food Services of America.  Training and consultation with sales associates and customers are critical to the position's success.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees plans to assist Ameristar/HFM in meeting overall sales goals 
  • Provides support in recruiting new customers and ensures that existing customers receive excellent customer service 
  • Motivate region for successful growth
  • Provides leadership and support to the sales team, including District Managers (DM’s) and District Sales Representatives (DSR’s)
  • Reviews current trends in assigned region, identifying opportunities for improvement and new account development
  • Develops action steps to achieve budget goals and maintains expenses within branch budget
  • Provides training and development to DM’s and DSR’s and coaches when appropriate
  • Attends District, Regional and Corporate sales meetings
  • Maintains excellent key customer relations throughout the assigned region
  • Aids in the development of territory action plans, trains DM’s and DSR’s on use and coaches for success
  • Integrates branch marketing plan into region
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or the equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of previous broadline food service successful sales experience required, prior internal experience preferred
  • Five years of prior sales management or food service management required
  • Five years of hands on culinary experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels in and outside of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize in a results-driven, collaborative environment
  • Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and the internet required with preference for experience in PowerSell, Inventory Manager, Recipe Manager, Profit Manager and CRM
  • Excellent analytical and computation skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Possesses valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and required insurance
  • Ability to pass background investigation and drug screen
  • Proven track record providing strong leadership
  • Able to excel as an effective member of the sales team and merchandizing team in specifc market targeted
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to organize and prioritize workload, work well with all levels of Associates and outside parties
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely responses to customers and associates
  • Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of associates and outside parties
